Right after the funding round closed, Steve flew up from Vegas for a 30 minute meeting. He filled a whiteboard with what he now calls horrible ideas. Peter stood silent, then said: "I'm going to walk out for five minutes and let you gather your thoughts. In five minutes, you should have a product that you're actually going to realistically build." Then he left. Steve stared at the board for four and a half of those five minutes.

The takeaway he pulled out of it is the one nobody posts about. "So many founders talk about getting funded. They don't talk about, that's not your finish line, that is your starting point."
